Shortly after my fling with Neil - came Doug.
I met Doug even before I met Neil. During my chatline days or nights, I met a guy named, "Brigdon" - not his real name -
Through Brigdon, I met Doug, though they lived in London, Ontario.
Eventually Brigdon and I had a strange falling out and thank god for that.
He was a bit creepy, telling tales through queer land in London, Ontario that is.
Regardless, move forward a few years and Doug moved on up to Toronto.
We found ourselves in a bar/club shortly after his arrival in the big city and at some point our lips locked. That started a night of passion, Ive yet to relive.
Doug and I had a fierce chemistry. We both had attitude and back in the day were posuers and hardcore clubbers. Doug and I dated for about a year, not long at all, but again, being so young, that was impressive to me. Doug and I moved in almost instantly. A queer mistake, I see and hear about the same all the time and at this point in my life, that is nothing but ridiculous. Yet we shacked up.
Doug and I were both unemployed and were more concerned with goin out, drinkin and having a great time. Obviously this coulnt last. I found a pattern with Doug. When we didnt have money he would run back to mummy and leave me stranded in the apartment. I remember after walking him to the bus station, coming back home and entering my kitchen and realising, theres no food? Back in those days I had my fabulous friend, Patrick, we knew how to get food, drink and drugs without having dime to our names, so I was well taken care of. Near the end of our relationship, things were a bit tense between Doug and I - Then it happened. One night at Colbys, we had gone with friends for a fun night out. I recall doug asking me, "do you mind if I dance with Chris" -
Chris was a sometimes drag queen who lived in the village and was new in the picture. Being trusting and easy goin, I said, "not at all, go ahead" -
Out with us that night was another friend of mine at the time, James.
James and I were chatting it up over beer when he told me to, "turn around" -
I turned to find Doug and Chris in a lip lock that I hadnt expereienced with Doug in weeks! Obviously I lost it. I didnt bother goin up to Doug or Chris. Instead I went back to my apt, grabbed my things and left. It was a bit more dramatic than just that, but what happened that night is between god and me. Regardless...about a week later Doug asked to see me, I agreed. Why I dont know, especially because he asked me to meet him at Chris' apartment? Being vulnerable at the time, I went.
We spoke for a bit and then he tried to kiss me - I couldnt let him touch my lips. He had been with someone else - im not the cheating slag that this blog is named after. Mind you neither is Doug the prime slag, but I was not, have not been and never will be. I couldnt let him touch me that way and as upset as I was, I had to leave. Thinking of how I was betrayed allowed me to move on from Doug, for that I thank him. I knew halfway through our relationship that it wouldnt work as we were of 2 different minds, 2 different outlooks on life. I think its called maturing, and I was maturing at a faster rate ha ha.
I havent seen Doug since out fall out thugh he is quite the character and was good for a laugh and a nice nite out.
So by the age of 21 I had been jilted for the first time.
Rumours about STD's at the time involving Chris and Doug were circulating. I must
say that honestly, it was a guilty pleasure knowing they had the "itch" - it put a smile on my face :)
I couldnt let this happen again so I swore of geting involved with anyone.
Carry on....
